While no assessment can ever fully capture the skills and abilities of a student and/or teacher, the PARCC results will allow you to see how your child is growing in his or her knowledge and understanding of the state’s learning standards.  In addition, the PARCC helps to provide a sense of where and how we are succeeding, and where and how we must improve.  For these reasons, we are expecting 100% of our scholars to take the PARCC.

As our partners in the education of your child, we ask that you do the following to ensure that he or she is present and prepared for the assessment:

    • Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep each night
    • Make sure your child has a good breakfast on the morning of the test. NOTE: The MS will serve breakfast for scholars each morning. Please make sure they are here by 7:45 AM to give them sufficient time to eat.
    • Make sure your child is present and arrives at school by 8:15 AM each day.
    • Make sure you encourage your child to do his/her best even if the test is challenging.

If you would like additional information regarding PARCC, please attend our second PARCC PARENT INFORMATION SESSION ON THURSDAY, APRIL 12th at 5:00 PM.  In addition, you may view information online at http://www.parcconline.org.

Your support and partnership in creating the best testing environment possible is greatly appreciated.

    For the Children,

    Mrs. Genique Flournoy-Hamilton, Principal
