Mathematics
MPTCS’ Math program provides rigorous and challenging curriculum to improve all K-8 students’ academic performance by providing high quality, effective and varied research-based instruction.
The lessons have heavy emphasis on real world connections and math concept integration through cross-curricular applications.
Social Studies
MPTCS uses Macmillan/McGraw-Hill textbooks to supplement students’ social studies education. Current events and textbooks are used to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to be active, informed, responsible citizens and contributing members of the community.
Academic Programs
Marion P. Thomas Charter School develops standard-based lessons using the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and National Math and Literacy Performance Standards.
Daily instruction is focused on meeting the individual and unique learning style of each student. Instruction is provided in multiple ways: whole class, small group and one-on-one. Assessments are administered regularly, disaggregated, and further used to supplement instruction in order to provide additional academic support to students.
